10th Anniversary Event Mural Sponsors
In 2006, the Essex National Heritage Area celebrated it's 10th Anniversary. A unique set of three murals depicting representative scenes from around the area was commissioned from Julia Purinton, a renowned local artist. The murals were unveiled at our June 1st Essentially Essex County celebration. Each mural's sponsor received the original mural while the Commission has raised additional funds through the sale of posters and notecards.
10th Anniversary Banner Sponsors
On June 1, 2006, the Essex National Heritage Commission celebrated the 10th Anniversary of the founding of the Essex National Heritage Area with an evening celebration, Essentially Essex County . With over 350 attendees, Massachusett's Senator Edward Kennedy was the featured guest in addition to the County's Congressional delegation, State Senators and Representatives and numerous local officials and representatives from corporations and businesses serving Essex County. Banners with logos from the major sponsors were prominently displayed in the hall and received full page ads in the event's program.
Friendship Sails to Newburyport Sponsors
For the first time ever, on August 23 - 27, the National Park Service's Friendship, a full-scale fully operational sailing ship reproduction, visited Newburyport's harbor. Over 10,000 local residents and visitors toured the ship while she was docked.
