Jim McAllister is the locally beloved historian, author, columnist and owner of Derby Square Tours, who over the past twenty five years, has been a relentless pursuer of the odd or little known fact, the colorful character, the unusual place or event. In celebration of Jim’s invaluable contributions chronicling the region’s unique legacy, Essex Heritage, in partnership with the National Park Service, will present Jim with its inaugural Heritage Hero Award. This award is the first in a tradition of recognizing the special contributions of individuals or groups across Essex County, whose passions embody the mission of Essex Heritage. Jim will then treat his dinner guests to an entertaining tour of the past 25 years, recounting local stories, many of which remain legendary.
All proceeds will help sustain the Essex Heritage Partnership Grant Program, which supports Heritage Area non-profit organizations and municipalities.
