2006 marks the 10th anniversary of the creation of the Essex National Heritage Area. Throughout 2006, ENHC will be hosting a variety of events to celebrate the remarkable people and places that make the Area such a special place to live.
We'd like your help. We're looking for 100 Milestones that happened in the region during the last 10 years. What do we mean by milestones? We're looking for stories about people and organizations who have worked to foster a greater appreciation of our regional heritage, connecting people to places in new and enjoyable ways that have enhanced the quality of life for all who live here.
People and organizations like:
- The Trustees of Reservations, who have revitalized the historic Appleton Farms in Ipswich, and continue to farm the land, preserving the property and our agricultural heritage for future generations to enjoy.
- The Wenham Museum, whose dynamic programming has evolved from a quiet historical society to a dynamic community-wide resource.
- The Town of Amesbury, who, by using historic old buildings in new ways, revitalized their town center and created a major arts and cultural center for the Merrimack Valley.
Send us your nomination!
Nomination Deadline: March 31, 2006
