Unique Adventures Abounded as Participants GO! Experience Essex Heritage!
TRAILS & SAILS 2009 planning is underway with a few new features that expand opportunities for residents and visitors to connect with rich heritage resources. Involving non-profit and community organizations, as well as heritage and recreation-based businesses, the event offers FREE guided tours, open house visits, hikes, walks, sails, paddles, and special experiences for all ages, skill levels and interests.
Trails & Sails 2009 will begin Friday, 9/18 to Sunday, 9/20 and again on Friday, 9/25 through Sunday, 9/27. Easy to use website tools will allow sites to submit their own events and for participants to design a customized itinerary of events through the Essex Heritage Website. In an effort to reduce our carbon footprint and save trees, the guide will be offered electronically, through the Essex Heritage website.
Essex Heritage is collaborating with the North of Boston Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Escapes North Program and numerous heritage partner sites to encourage residential and tourist visitation to the region. We are partnering to present sites along the Maritime Trail and Essex Heritage Scenic Byway One of the strongest themes we are using is Going Coastal – Finding Maritime Connections throughout the Heritage Area.
