Mary Baker Eddy, founder of the Church of Christ, Scientist in 1879, was a guest in this home during the summer and early fall of 1868 and again briefly in 1870. Mrs. Eddy found the Bagley home a quiet refuge for Bible study and she did some of her earliest writing on Christian Science in this historic house.
