- Our new walking tour explores Cogswell's Grant in its capacity as a working farm from the seventeenth century to the present day. Though the last owners, Bertram and Nina Fletcher Little, purchased the property as a summer estate and filled the eighteenth-century farmhouse with their wonderful collection of antiques, they continued to operate the farm and benefited from its produce year - round. We will walk the property and talk about the rich history of all the families that lived and farmed here, and how coastal farming evolved over three centuries. - Enjoy a rare inside look at the John Hancock Masonic Hall, a fascinating building that Methuen millionaire Edward F. Searles presented to the Masons as a gift in 1915. Built as the Exchange Hotel in 1851 to serve travelers on the Essex Turnpike, the building got a dramatic facelift in 1906 and is one of Methuen's most visually distinctive and historically significant structures. Visitors will see Masonic ritual spaces and artifacts not often seen by the public.

- Directions: I-95 to Exit 57, Rte 113 East. Continue straight onto Rte 1A South to the intersection with Rolfe's Lane for a total of 3.5 miles. Turn left onto Rolfe's Lane and travel .5 mile to its end. Turn right onto the Plum Island Turnpike and travel 2 miles crossing the Sgt. Donald Wilkinson Bridge to Plum Island. Take your first right onto Sunset Drive and travel .5 mile to the refuge entrance.

- Join us for a two hour, bird watching program at Parker River National Wildlife Refuge. This slow paced walk will introduce you to this premier birding area, and we'll discuss the natural history of the birds encountered. Bird enthusiasts of all levels are encouraged to participate. Dress for the weather. Parker River National Wildlife Refuge is a barrier Island with beach, dunes, shrubs, grasslands, maritime forest, fresh to brackish water impoundments and salt marsh habitats.

- Guided tours of Newburyport's oldest church building, which was built in 1756 for the Rev. George Whitefield, including the basement crypt. The Frescoing on the ceiling, walls, and curtains in the back of the pulpit is one of the finest examples of Trompe l'oeil in the country.

- Directions: I-95 to Exit 57, Rte 113 East (towards downtown Newburyport); follow Storey Avenue until it turns into High St. At the corner of High St. and Federal St., there is a blue & white sign with the Presbyterian (U.S.A) logo pointing the way to the church. Turn left onto Federal St. and the church is five blocks down on the corner of Federal and School Sts. The church building is on the right side of the street and has a tall steeple.
