Andover Village Improvement Society (AVIS)
Hike on 147 acre AVIS Deer Jump Reservation along the Merrimack River in Andover. View hemlock groves, huge white pines, with scenic river views in an area rich in history from prehistoric times. Bring good walking shoes and water.

Explore Beverly Farms
Join local historian and author Ed Brown of the Beverly Historical Society for a walk through the heart of historic Beverly Farms, once part of the storied Gold Coast. Learn about the wealthy summer residents and the tradesmen who made a living catering to them; view the homes of giants of the law and Prohibition bootleggers. Visit West Beach, a landmark since the 17th century, perhaps the most unique community beach corporation in the state. See heart of Beverly Farms in the days when the stage coach stopped there.

Hospital Point Lighthouse
As one of Beverly's most familiar landmarks this lighthouse commands a spectacular view of not only Salem Sound, but also 3 other lighthouses at Baker's Island, Winter Island, and Marblehead. Visitors will be guided by members of the Coast Guard Auxiliary up a winding staircase and then up a seven-step ladder to the lantern room, and from there they will pass through the hatch onto the gallery balcony to enjoy the spectacular views. Don't forget to bring your cameras!

Walker Collection Open House
Beverly Historical Society & Museum's renowned Walker Transportation Collection celebrates its 40th anniversary. Coastal Farming Walking Tour
This walking tour explores Cogswell's Grant as a working farm from the seventeenth century to the present day. Bertram and Nina Fletcher Little purchased the property as a summer estate and filled the eighteenth-century farmhouse with their wonderful collection of antiques.We will walk through the fields and to the marsh, while discussing the rich history of the families that lived and farmed here and how coastal farming has evolved over nearly four centuries. Regular tours of the house will be available for a fee.

Visit the Georetown Historical Society Brocklebank Museum
The Brocklebank-Nelson-Beecher house is a First Period structure built in the late 1600s. Come see one of the areas original structures and learn about its role in the underground railroad, it's "haunted meal chest" and see hundreds of artifacts on display.

Arthur Wesley Dow of Ipswich
Experience the Arthur Wesley Dow Gallery in Ipswich Museum's Heard House with major paintings, wood block prints, and photographs. Den Rock Park Hike
Join Groundwork Lawrence's Green Team and Tennis Lilly, Chair of the Lawrence Conservation Commission for a brisk hike through Lawrence's "hidden jewel," Den Rock Park. The park is a 120-acre wooded preserve that includes walking trails, a granite rock face with fissures perfect for technical climbing, scenic overlooks, a beaver pond, and access to the Shawsheen River. The hike is on maintained trails, with uneven terrain and moderate elevation changes. Well behaved dogs on leash welcome.

Old South Church
Guided tours of Newburyport's oldest church building, which was built in 1756 for the Rev. George Whitefield, including the basement crypt. The Frescoing on the ceiling, walls, and curtains in the back of the pulpit is one of the finest examples of Trompe l'oeil in the country.

Lunch Hour at the Gedney House
Spend your lunch hour touring the Gedney House. Take a tour of the Gedney House, a stunning example of a Colonial American house, estimated to have been constructed circa 1665. The house is significant for its structural carpentry and for surviving early paint and decorative finishes. Take a peek into one of Salem's architectural and historic gems that rarely opens it's doors to the public.

Marine Lab Exploration
The Cat Cove Marine Laboratory is operated by Salem State College to promote the sustainable use of aquatic resources on the North Shore and elsewhere. Instruction, outreach and research activities are pursued by Laboratory staff. Fish, clams and other "critters" are spawned and reared as part of instructional, restoration and enhancement efforts. Participants will observe aquatic life and will learn how these organisms are used to understand and manage aquatic resources.
