Who Are We?
Essex Heritage is a non-profit management agency for the Essex National Heritage Area. We work in collaboration with the National Park Service to develop and promote programs to enhance, preserve and encourage regional awareness of the Area’s unique historic, cultural and natural resources.

TRAILS & SAILS Weekend is Essex Heritage’s premier partnership event of the year with over 4,000 attendees participating in 200 events spread out over the 500 square miles of scenic Essex County, MA. We are looking for volunteers to help us with promotion and event support for the weekend festivities. Assignments might include distributing program guides, staffing information kiosks, registering participants and/or providing support to event leaders. All tasks offer flexibility in scheduling and consideration of any physical limitations.
We are looking for Volunteers:
- 15+ in age
- Cell phone-accessible
- Able to make a minimum 3-hour time commitment on one or more of the following days:
Friday, Sept. 26 Saturday, Sept. 27 Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008 - Able to attend Orientation Session: Thursday September 18, 2008 (6-7pm) (Pizza served)
at Essex Heritage in Salem
- Valid driver’s license a plus!
If you’re energetic and love history, art and the great outdoors, this is an excellent opportunity to give back to your community, support local preservation efforts and learn more about your Heritage Area!
