elcome to the Using ESSEX History website! Using ESSEX History is funded by a three-year Teaching American History grant from the U.S. Department of Education. This site was designed to provide history teachers with resources that can be easily incorporated into the classroom and enhance the experience of teaching and learning American history.

  • Essex County teachers can find all of the information they need to enroll in a Monthly Seminar or the Summer Session in the Seminars section.

  • Massachusetts teachers will find primary and field resources that correspond to the Massachusetts curriculum frameworks in our Resources section.

  • Teachers from across the nation can use our Resources section to find primary sources and lesson plans that can be used in any American history classroom.

Using ESSEX History Themes
